Going Pink with a Purpose
If you haven't heard, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and MarineMax is proud to support the cause. On Thursday, October 19, MarineMax will join the American Cancer Society’s national Power of Pink Day to #GoPinkWithAPurpose to increase awareness and focus on cancer screenings while encouraging those who have yet to be screened to do so.
Breast Cancer Facts
According to the Breast Cancer Facts & Figures 2022-2024 report from the American Cancer Society, it is estimated that 300,590 people will be diagnosed with new cases of breast cancer in 2023, and 2,710 of those will occur in men. Additionally, statistics from the American Cancer Society’s website show that more than 4 million survivors in the U.S. are living with a history of breast cancer today, and 150,000 patients have metastatic breast cancer.
Savings Lives
Research proves that early detection saves lives—and MarineMax is committed to the health and wellness of our team members and customers. In addition to breast cancer screenings (typically suggested as early as age 40), we encourage you to talk to your doctor about which ones are right for you. Additionally, MarineMax plans to support the work and research of the American Cancer Society locations by donating and going #GoPinkWithAPurpose at our store locations. So, remember to join in to raise awareness on October 19 by “going pink” and visit the American Cancer Society or Making Strides online to learn more about other great ways to get involved.
Through your support, we can make a difference and help save lives. Join us in the fight! For more information on this event or other ways to assist, contact your local MarineMax.
