As General Manager of MarineMax Wrightsville Beach and MarineMax Southport, Tyler Layton is honored to lead an extraordinary sales, service and parts team who have been serving the greater Wilmington area for over 20 years. These stores are best known for unparalleled personal customer service while offering premium boating brands focused on quality, durability, and reliability. As a part of the largest boat and yacht retailer in the world, MarineMax Wrightsville Beach and MarineMax Southport are able to fit any boating lifestyle through the offering of first-class brands such as Sea Ray, Boston Whaler, Azimut Yachts, Ocean Alexander Yachts, Hatteras Yachts, Aquila, and Galeon.

Prior to his promotion to General Manager at MarineMax Wrightsville Beach and MarineMax Southport, Tyler served for nearly two years as a Business Manager at the Company’s flagship store, MarineMax Clearwater. Before joining MarineMax, Tyler spent three years as a Finance Manager for Mercedes-Benz of Sarasota, as well as having served as a Finance Officer in the U.S. Army. In addition to his role as General Manager at MarineMax, Tyler is a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserve and has held numerous leadership positions throughout his military career, including an overseas assignment to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for a 10-month deployment. Tyler’s Military awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Overseas Service Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Service Medal, German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge, and the U.S. Army Parachutist Badge.

Tyler is a graduate of The Ohio State University and earned a commission as a U.S. Army Officer through The Ohio State University Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC). Tyler has been married to his wife Meghan for five years and together, they have three children, Molina, Ronald, and Charlton. As passionate boaters themselves, Tyler and Meghan very much look forward to seeing you out on the water and are excited to call Wilmington, N.C. home!
