MarineMax is widely recognized for their strong efforts to help families make memories on the water, but the company’s commitment to the community doesn’t end on the water. Each year, members of the MarineMax team step out of the office and off the water to contribute to building homes for Habitat for Humanity. Alongside future homeowners, Habitat employees, and volunteers, MarineMax team members help with hands-on tasks that turn these houses into homes.
“We are so proud of our partnership with Habitat for Humanity,” said Brett McGill, CEO of MarineMax. “At MarineMax, we are passionate about giving back to the communities we serve. Seeing the impact, we are able to create with our partnership, and watching these families work toward making their homeowner dreams come true is truly meaningful.”
This year, MarineMax was able to dedicate homes to two families: the Peterson Family and the Spiegel Family.
Ashley Spiegel, a determined, hardworking single mother, and her two children spent years living with various family members and struggling with rising rent. For Ashley, a Habitat home means far more than stability; it means giving her family a legacy to build. “This isn’t just a house,” she said, “it’s our forever – our story – and a place where we can make memories without ever leaving them behind.”
Alison and Colbourne Peterson have been living with their four children in a 900-square-foot house that they share with Alison’s parents. When the Petersons found out they had been accepted into Habitat’s program, they were beyond grateful. “We never imagined we’d have the chance to own a home, let alone learn so much about how to maintain it.”
For MarineMax, this partnership is a source of great pride and an example of putting the company values into action. With more than 10 homes dedicated so far, MarineMax looks forward to supporting many more families for years to come.
