Anthony Menella sought out his good friend, coworker and fellow boater, Mike Siegel, for advice on how to propose to his girlfriend, Melissa Niland. Anthony wanted to propose in a special nautical fashion. Mike Siegel, a lifelong boater, is a proud owner of a 48-foot Sea Ray Sedan Bridge that he docks at the MarineMax Lindenhust Marina. Together they came up with a plan.

“When Mike came to me with this fabulously romantic story I knew we had to share it,” explained Audrey Bess, MarineMax Lindenhurst Marketing Coordinator. “Mike and Anthony came up with the perfect arrangement for a nautical proposal.”

Pre-planning where Anthony and Melissa would be on Anthony’s boat, Mike invited the future bride and groom’s friends and family to go out on his Sea Ray for a day of boating. When the group approached Anthony’s boat, bow-on, the couple recognized Mike’s boat. However, to Melissa’s astonishment, when Anthony spun the Sedan Bridge around, the transom had a banner that read “Marry Me".

At that moment Anthony went down on one knee and proposed. Of course Melissa was shocked and pleased, offering a tearful "YES!" as her reply.
After the proposal the couple joined Mike on his boat to celebrate their true romance with friends, family, pets, and MarineMax burgees. A perfect ending for a new beginning.
