MarineMax Cares About Our Communitities

MarineMax team members live, work, shop, and boat locally, and like you we like to give back to our communities.

MarineMax Fill The Boat Events
During the holidays, local MarineMax stores conduct “Fill the Boat” events during which they encourage people to come into the store and help fill a boat with needed items. Sometimes it is a food drive. During the holidays it may be a toy drive for Toys for Tots. The MarineMax in Orlando is a standout, conducting a Fill the Boat for school supplies. They in turn donate the supplies to A Gift for Teaching a Orlando organization that provides free school supplies to teachers and students in three Florida counties, Orange, Osceola and Seminole.

“Hats-off to the A Gift for Teaching for doing such a wonderful, meaningful work,” explained Bryan Douglas, MarineMax Orlando Store Manager. “They are the real hero’s, along with the parents, school teachers, volunteers and administrators.”

Community Events
You'll often find your local MarineMax stores at an event celebrating your local community and business. MarineMax stores in New England are participating in Northshore Magazine's 3rd Annual Best of the North Shore party on August 24, 2016. Best of the North Shore is an annual event that focuses on the finer side of Boston's North Shore community. Attendees will be able to enjoy samples of gourmet dishes, cocktails, wines and brews from local businesses winning the 2016 Northshore Magazine's coveted Best of the North Shore Readers' Choice Awards and Editors’ Choice Awards! MarineMax is excited to sponsor this event which recognizes the best that the Northshore of Boston has to offer. Keep an eye out for your local MarineMax store next time you're at your favorite community gathering.

Environmental Events
Because MarineMax team members live the boating lifestyle, they are acutely aware of their environment and want to preserve the flora and fauna that we all love. Recently MarineMax Pensacola conducted a Bayou Chico Cleanup event.
“We are proud that we this opportunity to help the Bayou Chico Association restore this fragile habitat to a more natural state,” offered Mark Breton, General Manager MarineMax Pensacola at Bahia Mar. “It’s was chance to give back to the community we serve and the beautiful environment we all share. We are planning to make this an annual event.”

Right next door, the MarineMax Panama City Beach team members conducted a similar event on Shell Island. Both events provided all the cleanup materials and lunch for all the volunteers.

Charity Fishing Events
One of the more enjoyable ways local MarineMax stores give back is through participation and sponsorship of local charity fishing tournaments.
“As a sponsor of the Clearwater YMCA Flats Fishing Classic, we help the Y raise hundreds of thousands over the years for summer programs for deserving children,” said Jack Ezzell, MarineMax Clearwater General Manager. “And, the best part is my team members get to do what they love, go fishing.”

The MarineMax Long Island stores teamed up to support Long Island Cares, an organization that feeds the hungry on Long Island with their annual Fishing for a Cure tournament which raises money for cancer survivors.

Special Events
Many MarineMax stores have chosen to support a local charity with a special event. Recently, MarineMax Fort Myers hosted a “Night of Luxury” event to raise money for their local Golisano Children’s Hospital.

“I am exceptionally proud of my team at MarineMax Fort Myers for making this event so successful for this great cause raising $40,000.00,” explained Ryan West, MarineMax Fort Myers General Manager. “Everyone had a great time while serving the sick or injured children and their families who are our neighbors and friends. The Golisano Children’s Hospital is one of finest institution serving our community and beyond.”
