Boating Tips: Memorial Day

Welcome to Boating Tips with MarineMax! Happy Memorial Day MarineMax family! Captain Keith and Nick have a few easy tips to ensure that you have a safe and fun Memorial Day weekend out on the water. Ask your questions, make comments, and learn a thing or two about your favorite outdoor activity.

Designate a Sober Skipper

Boating is a lot of fun, but it also comes with responsibility. A BUI and a DUI are the exact same thing. A sober skipper is essential to make sure that everyone comes back to the dock safely. Don’t have your fun day turn tragic.

Be Prepared

While the Summer Solstice may be in June, for many, Memorial Day is thought of as the beginning of summer. Because of this, you want to make sure that you come prepared. Be sure to bring enough water and hydration, sunscreen and shade. Additionally, keeping an eye on the weather is very important, no one wants to get caught in a storm!

Have Fun and Give Thanks

Memorial Day Boating is a fun time that can be enjoyed by all, just keep the above items in mind and have fun. Of course, remember the true meaning of the holiday and take a moment to remember all those who made the ultimate sacrifice. For more on Memorial Day boating, click here. We’ll see you out there.
