Local Boat Dealer Hosts Food Drive To Support The Community

BRICK, NJ (November 10, 2020) – MarineMax is doing its part in giving back to the community by partnering with Move for Hunger to host a food drive at several locations. The COVID-19 pandemic has drastically increased the need for emergency food assistance nationwide. More than 37 million Americans were food insecure before the crisis, and Feeding America estimates that the number could increase by 17 million in 2020.

TJ Rose, MarineMax Regional Manager, comments, “Supporting our neighbors during any time of year is a priority, but our team felt it especially important this holiday season. We can provide a safe location for drop-off and to use our resources to spread the message.”

MarineMax is hosting a food drive from November 1 to November 23, 2020, with Move for Hunger, a non for profit based in Red Bank, NJ. In addition to hosting food drives and taking donations online, they partner with moving companies to provide their customers, clients, and residents an opportunity to donate food when they move. Drop off locations include MarineMax Brick, MarineMax Lake Hopatcong, MarineMax Ship Bottom, MarineMax Somers Point, and MarineMax Ocean View. Drop off non-perishable goods at any MarineMax location in New Jersey from now until November 23.

Tune in to MarineMax’s video podcast, Boating Broadcast, at 11:00 am ET on Thursday, November 12, to watch an interview with Adam Lowy, Executive Director and Founder of Move for Hunger.
