Favorite things to do on the water?

I enjoy a slow cruise and taking in all the views with my wife, family, and friends. When the weather is right, we love to get out in the ocean and look for dolphins. We also like to anchor out at Bird Island and just kick back and have a good time with friends and fellow boaters. We have several boat-friendly eateries that we like to visit while under way in both North and South Carolina. Our most favorite spot is our marina! We have an abundance of dock neighbors and friends who like to gather at the Anchor Café or at Ruth’s Chris for dinner, which is only a short walk from the Marina.

Scott can be found aboard his 2003 Sea Ray 260 Sundancer, boating along the ICW between Grande Dunes Marina and Shallotte Inlet, North Carolina. He can also be found venturing out into the Atlantic Ocean from Little River Inlet to watch the dolphins play, or anchoring up at Bird Island.

    Advice for new boaters?

If I met a new boater, my advice to them would be to be safe and courteous. You should always obey the laws and rules of boating, and remain vigilant. I'd recommend taking a boat safety course, or at least doing some research online. You are the captain, and are therefore fully responsible for all parties aboard your vessel, as well as boaters that you encounter while under way. When docking, remember that "slow is pro", and don’t be afraid to stop and start over.

When was your first time boating?

My earliest boating memories were being out with my grandfather who taught me basic seamanship. We fished together, water skied, and even camped on his Cabin Cruiser.

The best day is one spent with friends and family exploring new places and spending time together. We always love having people on board and cruising around!
