No two things mix quite as well as a fiesta and boating! With Cinco de Mayo coming up, we wanted to give boaters our top 5 recipes to create refreshing margaritas for a day out on the water.

  • Classic Margarita

    1. Classic Margarita

    Easy peasy, this one is simply the best! Clear and classic, you can’t go wrong.

    Ingredients:

    Tequila
    Cointreau
    Lime Juice

    Directions: 

    Rim the glass with salt. Hint: Take a lime wedge and cut a notch in the middle. Then slide it around the rim of the glass. This perfectly moistens the glass rim without having to use your fingers! Next, shake tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, and ice in a cocktail shaker. Don’t have a cocktail shaker? Use a glass mason jar and a strainer! Strain into a glass and add ice.

  • Frozen Margarita

    2. Frozen Margarita

    On a hot sunny day out on the water, a frozen margarita hits the spot.

    Ingredients:

    Tequila
    Lime Juice
    Orange Juice
    Honey or Agave Syrup
    Water

    Directions:

    Place tequila, lime juice, orange juice, agave, and water into a container and freeze them overnight. The day of serving, pour the frozen ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Rim the glasses with margarita salt and pour in frozen margaritas.

  • Jalapeño Margarita

    3. Jalapeño Margarita

    Spice things up with this tart recipe!

    Ingredients:

    Tequila
    Cointreau
    Lime Juice
    Jalapeño Pepper Slices

    Directions:
    Rim the glass with salt. Take tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, and jalapeno slices and shake together in a cocktail shaker with 4 ice cubes. Strain into a glass and add ice. Toss in a few more jalapeno slices for added spice!

    Ingredients:

    Tequila
    Fresh Lime Juice
    Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice
    Maple Syrup

    Directions:

    The key to making a healthier drink is to cut back on the amount of alcohol. With this, start by rimming the glass with salt. Then, stir your tequila, lime juice, and orange juice. Strain the drink into a glass and add ice. Note: use 2/3 the normal quantity of tequila and toss in just a hint of maple syrup for extra flavor.

    Ingredients:

    Lime Juice
    Lemon Juice
    Simple Syrup (or Maple Syrup)
    Pickle Juice
    Tonic Water

    Directions:

    Start by rimming the glass with salt. Then, mix lime juice, lemon juice, tonic water, a drizzle of simple or maple syrup, and the secret ingredient: pickle juice. Pour into glass with ice. Hint: toss in a hint of sugar in the tonic water for added pizzaz.
