Looping In The Love

What’s better than a boating adventure? It's doing it for a great cause and helping someone special along the way! In the latest From the Helm | Boating Broadcast video, Tom Corrigan, also known as “Uncle Tommy” and his peppy yellow lab, Hank show how they did just that in the TomAndHankOffTheHook episode. This dynamic duo has been in the headlines for making strides against cancer for Tom’s five-year-old nephew, Carson.

Watch some of the highlights of this heartwarming adventure as Tom explains some of the trials and tribulations faced along the Great Loop as the two traversed nearly 7,000 nautical miles on their 28-foot Sea Ray Sundancer, turned part-office. In addition to this exciting journey of a lifetime, the pair managed to raise more than $58,000 in donations for his nephew through St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital under the “The Hambone Gift Fund.”

Within this broadcast, you will hear about the different locations visited along this giant loop-of-adventure during the 16-month timespan aboard the Addiction starting in May of 2022. From the Erie Canal to the southernmost point in Key West, FL, Niagara Falls, the unrelenting waves of Lake Michigan, and even getting to see Carson along the way for Thanksgiving in Huntsville, AL, these two have a lot to talk and bark about! There is also a lot more revealed in the video. Find out even more details about their adventures from the source in the interview here.

Although Tom and Hank raised a sizable amount of money for Carson and sparked the attention of 8,000 social media followers @TomAndHankOffTheHook, the two are not done with their fundraising efforts. Since St. Jude has an average of 277 kids on their campus each day, Tom wants each one to have a red wagon or “superhero transporter." At around $250 per wagon, the ultimate fundraising goal is $69,250. As per Tom, “The St. Jude red wagon provided a sense of normalcy in my nephew’s very abnormal childhood. Picture my nephew riding in a wheelchair around the hospital. Now picture him being pulled by Uncle Tommy in a red wagon superhero transporter… (see the picture of Carson’s first ride in one). Sometimes, it’s the little things…”
