The amazingly talented Michael and Carissa Alvarado, pop-folk multi-instrumentalists and singers, make up "Us The Duo." They began their relationship with a connection to boating. They first met in LA and knew they had something special. Michael spent three months as a piano player on an Alaskan cruise ship to raise enough money and relocate to LA to be closer to Carissa. They started to vacation once they were together and took two to three boat trips a year. "You're in your own world, and boating feels like a community every time you're there. We love boating, and it can be an incredible life changing experience." The "Get on Board" song wouldn't exist without Anne Parrin, copywriter extraordinaire! She grew up fishing and living the lake life in Minnesota. She was assigned to a project to help the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation (RBFF) develop a message to cut through the sadness of a nationwide pandemic and energize people to get outside on the water. What better way than channeling her inner outdoorsman and creating a song about boating and fishing, two of the best outdoor activities known to man!

We begin headlines with a celebration. The Tampa Bay Lightning won the Stanley Cup, and in true Tampa fashion, they celebrated with a boat parade! Check out Lord Stanley's waterway adventures. Next up, beginning November 1, The Bahamas will remove the mandatory "vacation in place" requirements for all visitors, enabling everyone to move about and explore the destination beyond the confines of their hotel or other accommodations. The new protocols will require visitors, returning citizens, and residents to obtain negative results. Read more about the protocols here. Finally, MarineMax announces the acquisition of SkipperBud's, one of the boating industry's largest dealership and marina operators. With the acquisition, MarineMax adds 20 locations in Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, California, Washington and Florida. Additionally, the move strengthens MarineMax's premium real estate holdings with the addition of 11 marina and storage facilities, nearly doubling the Company's marina portfolio.
