Storage spots fill up quickly, especially indoor or heated options. Even a short check of covers, supports, and exposed hardware can save trouble later. Slightly elevating your boat while it’s in storage helps protect the hull and systems. For boats staying in the water, a partial winterization on sensitive areas can prevent headaches when spring comes.

A few small checks now go a long way later. Look over engine fluids, batteries, bilge pumps, and trim tabs, and take a quick look at the hull for cracks or corrosion. Anti-fouling paint doesn’t always need a full refresh—touch up the high-risk areas.
