Preventative Maintenance Service
Arrive at the designated vessel: ___ Inspect dock lines & fenders assure all are properly adjusted ___ Inspect exterior appearance, note and cosmetic discrepancies ___ Inspect exterior canvas, assure all is in place and secure
Inspect vessels electrical system: ___ Inspect shore power connection and cable ___ Turn on lights throughout vessel, replace bulbs as necessary ___ Inspect DC battery system, add water as necessary ___ Assure charger is working properly
Inspect main engines and generators: ___ Check oil and water levels in prime movers and transmissions ___ Start engines and allow to reach operating temperature ___ Check for leaks; oil, water, exhaust ___ Transfer electrical load to generators ___ Shut down engines, transfer electrical load to shore power, shut down generators at end of inspection
Inspect onboard air conditioning system: ___ Turn on all units while generators are running ___ Check and clean raw water sea strainers as necessary ___ Check return air filters clean as necessary ___ Turn off A/C units before transferring load back to shore power
Inspect shaft and rudder gland/seals: ___ Inspect securing clamps ___ Inspect for leaks ___ Inspect associated hardware and fittings
Cycle toilets, inspect associated components: ___ Inspect toilet bowls and seats, assure all are secure ___ Assure toilets are working properly ___ Inspect associated components for proper function and leaks
Inspect potable water system: ___ Assure water tank is full, add water as necessary ___ Run faucets to cycle fresh water through system ___ Wipe out sinks after test
Inspect bilge areas, bilge pumps & sumps: ___ Open bilge access check for signs of excessive water ___ Inspect bilges for discoloration or odors ___ Inspect pumps & auto float switches ___ Inspect sumps |
