The 38 Express is an ideal choice for owners of smaller fishing boats who are looking to move up, as well as for owners of bigger battlewagons who are looking to move down. A precision-designed mid-sized model, she offers greater offshore comfort than an outboard-powered vessel due to her balanced weight distribution, which increases stability without compromising speed or maneuverability. Performance

The CABO 38 Express is equipped with some of the finest, most powerful marine engines on the market, so you should never have a problem getting to the fish long before your competition. Our high-tech laminating technique - vinylester resins are bonded with stitched biaxial reinforcement - creates an incredibly strong, high-performance hull, while a vacuum-bagged core keeps the boat light and agile. Simply put, the 38 Express boasts the range and seaworthiness of a much larger sportfisher.

Fishability

The cockpit of the 38 Express is nothing short of a bluewater angler's dream. Two large-capacity, insulated fish boxes include macerators for dependable operation and easy clean out, while a bait prep center with sink, rigging board, and loads of storage keeps your lures and tackle tidy. All the goggle-eyes you need to catch that prize-winning sailfish are kept lively in the massive 48-gallon bait tank. In the cockpit deck, an aluminum reinforcing plate for mounting a fighting chair comes standard, as do an icebox and self-bailing cockpit scuppers. Four rod holders, and both fresh and saltwater washdowns, are close at hand for even more in the way of convenience.

The latter are individually built by master marine electricians, with every component clearly labeled, including wiring, which is neatly bundled, color-coded, and follows perfectly parallel lines.

The entire helm deck of the 38 Express can be raised hydraulically to allow unobstructed access to the engine room, which is finished in white gelcoat and provides ample space to work around each system and component. From the starboard-side helm position, the skipper maintains clear sight lines fore and aft, and is only a few short steps away from the action in the cockpit.

Accommodations

The cabin of the 38 Express features all the first-class amenities owners have come to expect from CABO. Recessed halogen lighting, satin-finished teak cabinetry and woodwork, removable deep-pile carpet, a flat-screen television, and designer fabrics and finishes are just the beginning. The L-shaped lounge converts quickly and easily to upper and lower bunks, while the forward stateroom, with a cedar-lined hanging locker and storage beneath the berth, can comfortably accommodate up to four anglers in one double berth and two overhead singles. A pair of storage lockers with horizontal racks in the stateroom ensure the no rod gets left at home.
