In the fall of 1997, talks of consolidation began, and in January of 1998 a corporate office was opened in Clearwater, Florida. In June, an IPO was completed, and the company became listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol HZO. Since then, the company has more than quadrupled in size, through both organic growth and acquisition.
